Many decorations for the Tet Festival (lunar New Year)
Lots of pleasant restaurants...
This is an inland boat. The eyes are intended to scare off creatures that live in the waterways.
These are ocean going boats.
These boats you will see only by their lights fishing at night.
A favorite breakfast - banana pancakes.
A lady heading for the beach where she will serve meals.
One of the many carts selling Vietnamese submarines.
Entrance to the beach. Days before it was windy and cold and hardly a sole in site.
Five on a motorbike. The most I have seen ins six so not a record.
Days before there were waves crashing against the sand bags. Rather peaceful now.
Many groups of people for lunch.
The seating was all small plastic tables and chairs brought by the ladies that prepared the meals.
Not a bad way to end a day.
For the Tet festival many places had a kumquat tree and yellow daisies. Some kumquat trees were decorated like Xmas trees.
To get to many areas there were paths through rice paddies.
Also many waterways.
Decorations much like Xmas except many were for the community, not just individual houses.
